Saale bear da kasoor

I am writing this blog coz recently i came across something dat has totally changed the life of my friend. it started like this. i just got a call from this guy yesterday who was with me in my school but after passing out he dropped a year only to get a seat in my college which is the best college of my state in engineering. he joined my college as a junior. i dint know why he called me but only asked me 2 come out 2 meet him. he desperately wanted a vodka & we both went to a bar where he cud have 1, not me. after a peg everything came out. the reason he called me was that he was in love with a girl who loves another guy. even he had proposed dat girl just to get a negative reply. he was too depressed after dat & found a solution dats only to drink. earlier he was very nice & was even a vegetarian. but after this incident he was a totally a changed guy with drunk most of the time & sure a non vegetarian. i just came to know yesterday about it. like wat amir khan had said in rang de basanti, its the same here "saale bear da kasoor, sab bahar nikal aaya...". i got to know everything about it & even he said he might turn to "devdas" 1 day if he doesnt get dat gal. the situation has gone to such an extent dat even i as his friend cant do anything for him. now i want him to go back to his earlier cheerful normal life but i dont know how to go for it.
this is wat beer has turned his & several other people life miserable.

THE EDUCATION INDUSTRY IN ORISSA

Orissa- a popular state with its capital Bhubaneswar called the temple city of India has many colleges for education. It is said that it has the maximum no. of engineering colleges after Karnataka. Students are also maximum here in these colleges. Engineering education started in the state in the 50’s and it slowly increased to have more than 40 colleges excluding the NIT (Rourkela). The reason for this increase in no. of colleges was money. Presently the state has 5 govt. colleges where money is not taken as students get through entrance exam, but the rest colleges take students on the basis of entrance exams n the rest who do not have good marks in the exam get through so called management quota (donation). The donation starts from Rs 5, 00,000 to Rs 8, 00,000 and more & varies from college to college. A student through management quota has to pay a huge sum of money. This is not a new thing now; this started very earlier from the 80’s with the opening of private colleges & thus the industry for education started. All these colleges owned by the people have one motto i.e. to get money (irrespective of what type of teachers are there to teach) & nothing else. Their greed for getting money resulted in opening of many colleges. The opening of more no. of colleges resulted in the opening of a new university() which would affiliate all the technical college under it. The university started in the year 2003 had mottos like IIT standard study, results within very less time, regular classes, shortage of attendance will lead to not giving of exam for that paper, no supplementary exams etc. . The university also tied up with IIT, kharagpur. All the rules were followed so as to improve the students learning method but after a year there were problems like most of the students got failed in most of the subjects the reasons were less time to study a subject, faculties were not properly trained, course wasn’t finished in time, no time gap between the exams, answer sheets were evaluated in short span of time that a student having career as 80%, got failed in a particular subject, some students failed for a year, even the result of some subjects was 30% pass. Even students giving the entrances were not spared. There was 30% reservation for women which resulted in more no. of girls getting into colleges. The situation got so much serious that students staged strikes but no one listened to them. Just think if an engineering student gets failed for a year then his/her future is destroyed.

If the university doesn’t give proper training to faculties then how could they teach the students properly? What will be the future of our country if fewer engineers are produced? What will happen to the money given by them to the college? Will the university ever understand this?
